Nicaragua- Amigos for Christ

I thought this would be the best way to share with you my experiences in Nicaragua. So how exactly did i get involved in this project??? It all started with one small conversation with Vince and the rest as we is history. We were discussing what would be the best way to help and make a difference in the world and take action.
<- One of my first encounters with the Puerto Rican Princess "Yeah Baby" Patty Perez

Vince, being the genuine soul he is, mentioned that one of my co-workers (Patty Perez) was heading to Central America with a missionary group called Amigos for Christ. Being ever so spontaneous, I decided to email Patty to find out more information. The next thing i knew, I was on a flight to Nicaragua, never having met Patty ( I know, I am insane). I call it an act of faith.
History of the Organization
So, before i decide to ramble on my amazing experiences, I would like to share with you a brief history of the organization. When Hurricane Mitch struck Central America on October 30, 1998, almost 3000 people were killed around Chinandega, Nicaragua, and entire villages disappeared under volcanic mudslides. Since then, Amigos have strived to settle and sustain these displaced families in safe, healthy communities. The organizations is involved in planning and sponsor medical, housing, feeding, educational and clean water programs. More information:www.amigosforchrist.org
I really do hope that my journey will inspire everyone who reads my journal. It is a testement to faith that the people of chinandega have and I hope this will inspire everyone to travel and get involved in make a difference in some form or another.
